The aim of this code of conduct is to ensure that all Cubs can enjoy Scouting activities with dignity and without disruption or upset. By accepting the code of conduct, each cub and leader agree to treat all other members of the group with dignity, respect and tolerance and expect to receive the same courtesy in return.
As cubs we commit to each other to;
- Co-operate with leaders and other adults in all scouting activities.
- Respect our equipment and facilities.
- Be friendly and amicable to everyone in the group.
- Speak to everyone in the group with dignity.
- Support and assist the younger members of the cub pack.
Unacceptable Behaviours
- Personal remarks – remarks about another person’s family, personal habits, clothes or belongings, for example.
- Name calling.
- Fighting/Rough play
- Bullying threats / intimidation
- Defiance
- Disrespect and rudeness
- Stealing/lying
- Destruction of Scouting equipment and people’s property
- Writing graffiti
- Obscene language
- Leaving scouting venue or other location of activity, without Leaders permission
- Not wearing the Cub uniform – scarf and jumper for each meeting and outing
Discipline Procedure
Failure to adhere to the code of conduct through a significant breach or persistent minor issues will be dealt with through the pack’s discipline procedure.
1st Occurrence Cub will be spoken to by Leader.
2nd Occurrence Cub will be spoken to by Leader and Parents/Guardians will be notified of unacceptable conduct.
3rd Offence Cub will be excluded from Scouting activities without a refund of fee for a finite period or indefinitely at the sole discretion of the cub section leader.
Please make sure that your child is aware of this Code of Conduct and the consequences of his/her actions. Emphasise the benefits that it will bring to him/her as well as the responsibilities that it also brings.
